"Look at the story. I read it once. Now read it with me. Number 1 — put your answer in the chat." For the form, share it full-screen and fill it in together, most recent job first. Then breakouts: each student says their own work history to a partner, and comes back with one sentence about the partner.
Four new words. Tap each one and listen. Your language is under every word.
Read the story. Tap a part to hear it again.
My name is Ana Morales. This is my work history. I was born in Ecuador. Now I am a nurse. I work at Millbrook Health Clinic in Brooklyn. I was not a nurse before.
From 2021 to 2024, I was a cashier at Rosa's Market. The store was small. The people were nice. In 2024, I was unemployed for six months. It was a hard year.
Last year my job was with Millbrook Home Care. I was a home health aide in Queens. I was with an old man every day. I was tired every night. Now I am at the clinic. I am happy at work.
Write the missing word. Then type it in the chat.
Read the story again. Answer with one or two words.
This is part of the citizenship form. Fill it in for Ana. The answers are in the story.

Start with the job you have now. This is what the form says.
No job for a time? Write unemployed. The real form wants the month, day and year.
Now YOUR work history. Say it to your partner. Do not type it here.
No job then? Say: I was a student. I was unemployed. I was a homemaker.
Then tell the class one sentence about your partner.
Like this: Marie was a cook in Haiti.
