★ sixteen words, point to it, choose two  ·  ★★ half of the word, is or has  ·  ★★★ how long, what color, a person you know

Download the PDF PDF · 4 pages

For the teacher · In class

Point at a tile: "Number 13. What is it?" The room answers in the chat. Then the one idea of the sheet: describe a person with is or has. Tall, short and bald take is (He is tall). Hair, a beard and glasses take has (She has long hair; he has a beard; he has glasses, or he wears glasses). Blond takes both (He is blond; he has blond hair). In hair, say how long first, then the color: long black hair, short gray hair. The traps: "He is a beard", "She has tall", "She is long hair", "She has hair long". The hair colors are the N-400's own boxes (Blond, Sandy, Gray, Bald), so this sheet leads into Describe a Person. The pictures overlap on purpose (the black hair woman also has long hair), and every true description passes. Keep it kind: describe, never judge. The answer key is at the foot of the sheet.
