"Look at the story. I read it once. Now read it with me. Number 1 — put your answer in the chat." For the or questions, whoever types "yes" answers again. ★★★ has no key: any sentence is right if it is about the student's own Saturday and its verb ends in -ed.
Four new words. Tap each one and listen. Your language is under every word.
Read the story. Tap a part to hear it again. Every past verb ends in -ed.
Ana lives in apartment 4B with three roommates. On Saturday they cleaned the apartment. Ana mopped the floor and dusted the shelves. Luis vacuumed the carpet and ironed the laundry. Sam scrubbed the floor and folded the laundry. Elena washed the laundry and wiped the shelves. At four o'clock the apartment was clean.
At ten o'clock the neighbors upstairs started a party. The music played very loud. Ana was tired. She waited for one hour. At eleven o'clock she walked upstairs and knocked on the door. Nobody answered. The music stopped at two in the morning.
On Sunday morning Ana was angry. Luis showed her a number: 311. It is the city's number for noise. 911 is only for an emergency. Ana called 311 and reported the noise. On Sunday night the neighbors turned the music down.
Citizen life: 311 is the city's number for noise. 911 is only for an emergency.
Write the missing word. Then type it in the chat.
Read the story again. Answer each or question with the choice, never yes or no.
