Patina Video Classroom
This tool is for partner organizations. Patina runs private video
classrooms where a trained volunteer meets one adult learner, and it is
not open to the public while we are testing it.
Teaching a learner? Everything you need is already in your
Patina email: your classroom link and your password. Open that link to
meet your learner. There is nothing to get from this page.
I am a coordinator
The coordinator site is password protected. Your key is the
one you use to create rooms.
Your video lesson
Your teacher invited you to a video lesson. When you tap the button, your
phone will ask to use your camera and microphone . Tap Allow .

Welcome!
Your teacher can see and hear you. If the connection gets weak,
you can turn your camera off and keep talking. The lesson works with sound alone.
Connection unstable. Turning your camera off usually keeps the sound clear.
Turn camera off
Patina can't use your camera or microphone. In your browser's settings,
allow Camera and Microphone for this site, then try again.

Before you share your screen
Sharing a website or a video? Choose Chrome Tab .
Sharing another program? Choose Window .
Your whole screen is never offered — it would show the classroom
inside itself. Pick one tab or one window.
For YouTube or music, keep Also share tab audio on.
The drawing toolbar appears with your share — pick the pen and
your student sees every stroke. The Annotate pill
brings the toolbar back any time.

Your screen is being shared, so your student can see this document.
Stop sharing
Students cannot see this FAQ document. Do not share it with your student.
Using a link from it? Click the link. It opens in a new tab, and you can share your
screen for just that tab.

program staff or an accredited legal-services provider.

Off — send everything my microphone hears
Quietens traffic, fans and other rooms so your
voice is easier to understand. Turn it off if you want music or another
person in the room to be heard.

Spanish only
English with Spanish underneath
Off. No captions are shown. Captions help a learner
who reads more easily than they hear, and you can switch them on for just a hard moment.

Runs on a computer, not a phone. It uses some

Before you go
Optional, and quick: two questions for
the program coordinator.
1. Did the video tool work well today?
Worked well
Some problems
Did not work
2. How did your session go?
Write the email
This opens your own email app with the
note written for you, so you can read it before it goes. Patina sends and
stores nothing.
